Highway Technical Surveys
STATUS - Expiring (New Solution in Development)
REFERENCE - NEPO209
NEPO209 Highways Technical Surveys gives North East public sector organisations access to highway technical services.
The solution comprises the following lots, in which a maximum of three providers have been awarded to each lot:
- Lot 1: SCANNER Surveys to assess the condition of named highways within the Tyne & Wear, Tees Valley and Durham County Council boundaries.
- Lot 2: Other Machine Based Surveys to assess the condition of named highways within the Tyne & Wear, Tees Valley and Durham County Council boundaries. The providers may be requested to carry out SCRIM, Grip Tester, Deflectograph, Ground Penetrating Radar and Machine Based Inventory surveys.
- Lot 3: Visual Surveys – coverage – some classified road network; majority is unclassified road network – 20 – 25% of each authority’s unclassified road network p.a.; FNS of footway network – 20 - 25% p.a.; Types – CVI – roads; DVIs – roads; FNS – footways and remote footpaths; AEI – roads and footways.
- Lot 4: Process Data Reporting - coverage – whole network; types – all surveys; use – for Single Data Lists and HM Programme and Benchmarking.
All lots have been awarded on a ranked basis however, there is the option to run a mini-competition when required.
Notes on procurement process. NEPO seeks to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System to provide UK public-sector organisations access to a wide range of innovative technologies to inform highway maintenance programmes.
