NEPO207 Building Construction Works has drawn on expertise from public sector partners and contractors, to deliver an OJEU-compliant, value-for-money route to deliver construction works and design services. We anticipate that a range of public sector projects will be commissioned under the solution including commercial buildings, community assets, housing and renovations.
The solution also reflects extensive consultation with the construction sector, and NEPO actively encouraged local and SME contractors to bid for a place on the framework. As a result of this groundwork, 70 per cent of the successful suppliers are SME organisations. NEPO proactively manages contractor performance to maximise supply chain opportunities, local labour usage and other social value outcomes.
The solution is available for use by North East public sector organisations within the sub-regions identified in the lotting structure (see below). Contracting Authorities will have the choice of directly awarding to the contractor delivering best value for the individual project or using mini competitions to identify the optimum contractor.
