NEPO supplier named as one of UK's most inspiring companies

Oil NRG, a supplier to NEPO’s Liquid Fuels solution, has been included in a high-profile list from the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

The ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report is an annual celebration of some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK. Based in Stockton-on-Tees, Oil NRG is one of 32 North East companies to have been included in the report.

Lee Reason, Bulk Sales Manager at Oil NRG commented:

“Winning a place on the NEPO solution for Liquid Fuels was a significant achievement for Oil NRG that has allowed us to demonstrate our capabilities to public sector customers in the North East. This has undoubtedly played a part in us gaining recognition in LSE’s annual list of inspirational companies. We will continue to build on this success and will ensure that our work for NEPO’s Member Authorities delivers wider benefits to the local economy in terms of employment, supply chain and environmental factors.”

Nicola Shelley, Associate Director at NEPO, said:

“We are delighted that Oil NRG has received this level of national recognition. NEPO and its Member Authorities are committed to supporting the local economy through our procurement practices. This was evident when we carried out extensive market consultation prior to the procurement of a regional Liquid Fuels solution, which enabled suppliers to help shape the specification and opened up opportunities for SMEs to compete. We will continue to work with our stakeholders to ensure that regional procurement has a strong business focus and supports the growth of our economy.”

NEPO’s Liquid Fuels solution supplies North East local authorities and a range of additional public sector organisations with fuel such as diesel, petrol, gasoil and kerosene. With an anticipated value of over £18m, it is anticipated that the solution will save NEPO Member Authorities approximately £250k over its four-year term. Read more at
