NEPO Business Club: NEW EVENTS

FREE events for organisations with an interest in winning public sector business have been added to the NEPO Business Club Programme January - April 2016.

Navigating the NEPO Portal - The NEPO Portal is the North East Procurement Organisation’s online tendering system; it enables suppliers to search for tendering opportunities and submit electronic bids for work with the 12 North East local authorities. A new version of the portal is to be launched shortly and as NEPO moves towards this,  there is a choice of small group sessions or 1-hour appointments, delivered by NEPO’s system administrators, for businesses requiring assistance.

Developing and Using Social Value In Your Business - Social Value, CSR, and benefiting the local community is no longer a “nice to have” – it makes a real difference to your tendering score and can add real value to your business to attract corporate purchasers and supply chains. This session will cover why what you do is commercially important and will outline how to use this information when selling into the supply chain and tendering. This session is aimed at all small businesses in the region, and will highlight developing local employment and community benefit.

Successful Tendering: a winning approach to the new ‘open’ process - New processes resulting from the implementation of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, incorporate a 'standard' Questionnaire and the ITT, as a single open procedure - replacing pre-qualification and providing much greater access to SMEs. This 'must do' session is aimed at all businesses currently bidding or now considering the public sector as a market. It takes potential bidders step-by-step through the new open process, including the Questionnaire and using previous tenders and generic tender questions related to the types of tenders to be published.

NEPO Business Club Procurement Surgery – Garry Stone and Melanie Carr B2B North Ltd The Tuesday Surgery provides organisations with the opportunity to meet with an independent tendering professional for an hour of free one-to-one support. You can use your appointment to get advice on any aspect of the tendering process. From organisations just starting to look at tendering with the public sector, to businesses with specific questions on a current bid - this is a great opportunity to get insight and practical help from experts in the field.

Bid Writing Masterclass - Your ability at writing bids can be make or break for your business. This full day Masterclass focusses on what you write and how to write to to gain the most impact within tight word counts. It will help you use the right models and processes to build compelling bids whatever the bidding process or structure.

Using practical examples and hands-on exercises, the Masterclass will show you how to write effective 300 and 500 word answers that score points and win tenders, how to shape content for impact, 'meaning' and maximising your score how to articulate social value and gain every single mark as a North East business.
