LGA National Construction Conference

The Local Government Association's (LGA) fifth national construction conference takes place on 1 February 2018 in London.

‚ÄčThis year's conference focuses on ‘Construction Category 2018’ and represents a significant opportunity to network with peers and participate in a host of plenary, panel and workshop sessions to deliver:

• An increased contribution from the sector in shaping, delivering and quality assuring services
• Increased confidence that local government is taking real action to improve construction procurement and
closing the rhetoric/reality gap

Workshops will focus on recommendations from the new construction category strategy for local government, including an update on PAS91 and the use of local suppliers. The event will also feature a debate on the relative merits of both NEC and JCT contracts. In addition there will be an update on case law concerning how local government can continue to add social value and work with the wider public sector through collaboration following the UK’s decision to exit the EU.

The event will be of interest to those responsible for procurement, highways and infrastructure, construction and housing.
