Gateshead Council are seeking to appoint an experienced procurement individual looking to further their career. The Council have recently re-structured their Corporate Commissioning and Procurement service and have exciting opportunities for a Construction Category Lead.
The Category Lead will be innovative and motivational in their approach. They will have expert knowledge within Construction and understand the market. The Category Lead will undertake a comprehensive analysis of Council spend, develop outcomes, oversee the delivery of a category workplan and the appropriate procurement processes are undertaken to achieve targeted savings and improve local spend.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of an excellent digital information function for the Procurement Service.
Reporting to a Procurement Development Lead, you will be responsible for the digitisation of procurement activity within the Corporate Commissioning and Procurement Service.
You will have experience of designing and developing internet, intranet, and social media pages and be able to configure workflows within systems; produce reports and carry out maintenance on systems.
