A Strategy for Collaborative Procurement

NEPO has worked in partnership with its North East Member Authorities to develop a Collaborative Procurement Strategy for the period 2017 to 2020. The strategy identifies five aims that contribute to our vision to “Achieve benefits through Collaborative Procurement”:

  • Achieve financial savings and enhance commercialisation
  • Maximise opportunities for local suppliers to deliver social value outcomes
  • Deliver for our members and stakeholders
  • Utilise resources and expertise efficiently to maximise delivery
  • Drive collaboration through strategic leadership

The strategy has the support of senior stakeholders and will be measured through our robust performance management process.

This will help us build upon the achievements of 2016/17 which included:

  • Delivering a work programme with a value of £210M
  • Annual savings of £1.3M
  • Supporting 556 suppliers through the NEPO Business Club events programme
  • Launching version 3 of the NEPO Portal eTendering system
  • Being shortlisted for four prestigious GO Awards

NEPO will keep its stakeholders informed on delivery and performance throughout 2017/18.
